Festive vibes!

Ganpati Bappa Morya! Bappa brings lots of happiness, good luck and of course the best modaks! 😉

Not just people in Maharashtra but every one else too waits for this auspicious occasion. Some even say, that the season of festivals and celebrations have begun. You see we have Navratri, Dussehera, Diwali all lined up. It seems as if the festivals are just waiting for one to get over so that the other can commence. This year Ganesh Chaturthi begins on a Friday which means long weekend, pandal hopping, good food and yes dressing up to the level best. We thought of three simple and different ways to colour our long weekend that we would definitely love to share with our readers too.

Day 1: This has to be the toughest yet the most excitement filled day of all. Lord Ganesha arrives at our homes and pandals. Arti, Puja, Bhog and every ritual has to be done perfectly. With all these work to do, staying simple yet stylish is the best solution. We have a soft corner for the colour yellow but it is a very difficult colour to carry if not teamed up rightly. This lime green Lucknowi Kurta with yellow embroidery is not just pleasing to the eyes but also gives a very comfortable feel. To go well with the yellow motifs, we paired it with a pair of yellow leggings and simple jhumkas. A perfect look for Day 1. What else do we need? Yes, you are right. We need to now think for the upcoming days. 😉

Day 2: We all love to flaunt our best dupattas. In the recent fashion times, the dupattas always do most of the work easy. Here the orangish red kurta and dupatta coordinate well enough and give a bright and radiant look to the eyes. The pair of straight white pants is the best partner to create a festive ensemble. Kolhapuri chappals, jutis or any such traditional flat footwear would complete the look for you. Yes flats are best when you have plans to roam around a lot and visit everyone during festivals. It just makes your feet feel lighter.

Day 3: Its Sunday and surely you have had enough of pandal hoppings and visiting your friends. Its time for some relaxation and looking the best. And like every girl, we too love our sarees. Draping them becomes difficult at times, but the feeling of donning one never fades our smile. This black and white saree has beautiful motifs on the pallu. Paired it with a velvet blouse, it does not look too bright to the eyes. Saree and no jewellery cannot be an option for us. The look is so elegant that too much jewellery would also ruin its simplicity. So we thought of pairing the saree with silver and pearl drop danglers and embellished bangles. It really worked the best!

We hope you agree with our thoughts. So without much delay, enjoy the celebrations and don’t forget to look the best. 🙂

A bond so strong.!

20170806_124449Raksha Bandhan, the charm of this festival has never ever faded and will never do. After all, it exhibits the deepest connection between siblings.

As sisters, we look forward to this day every year with a lot of anticipation. Not just to see what our surprise gifts are but certainly to see the beautiful smile on our brothers’ faces. Like us, they too wait for this day eagerly and never fail to flaunt the cute, little, decorative threads on their hands to everyone. A ‘rakhi’ is more than just a beautiful, decorative thread. It is an unsaid promise of a brother to protect his sister under any circumstance.

On this day we urge every brother to stand for not just his sister but every women out there. Let’s make world a better and safer place to live for them. Let’s honour the promise of protecting our sister.

Happy Raksha Bandhan readers!😊
